“ I needed some fresh seafood to make some sushi with and we swung by Yama Sushi Marketplace. This location I couldnt find on the map, but I think its the third location for Yama. This particular store was previously owned by a grumpy sushi maker and I have heard he never made enough sushi and always ran out. Yama sushi acquired the location and staffed it appropriately with excellent sushi chefs and seafood counter personnel. They make sushi items daily and they are fresh and delicious. I highly advise getting there early in the day as they still sell out often. They also sell fresh seafood you can use to make your own sushi or sashimi. When in California, I will always make it here. Prices are good and the service was outstanding. Plenty of parking ”
“ Excellent food. Well run business with very good quality fish and snacks. Chicken Katsu is very good. The staff is very nice. Surprisingly good beer and sake selection too. Highly recommend. ”
“ Yama is my favorite hole in the wall foodie spot in West LA. Introduced this haunt to multiple friends and theyve all become frequent customers. Fish is fresh and fish market quality. They cut up your order at the counter and offer a rotating display of seafood. Be sure to pick up a salmon or Hamachi collar to pop in the oven later. The only place I get california rolls from, they are enormous and the sushi is the best value and quality for price you will find in LA. My favorite budget meal is getting the pokebowl or california roll and cut up sashimi at the counter. ”
“ THE BEST VALUE FRESH SUSHI IN LA!!!! I drive all the way from ktown 40 min just to have their food. So worth it. The California rolls are massive and the rice to fish ratio is perfect never too much rice. Ive gone here 10x in a month and got all my friends hooked. The yellowtail nigiri is incredible and the sashimi plate. Cant wait for them to open in ktown. ”
“ Super cute place to get Japanese snacks, goodies and ofc sushi. Fresh and delicious bit on the pricey side but totally worth it. If you come here to get sushi instead of Pavilions or Ralphs you will probably never go there again. Amazing stuff! ... ”
“ My kids love Yama, and weve visited many times. The fresh ingredients, reasonable prices, and attentive service are definitely highlights for us, we appreciate the convenience of grabbing takeout to enjoy at home. Today, I stopped by for takeout about half an hour before closing and was surprised to see quite a few customers still there. ”
“ Yama has become one of my favorite sushi shops. I first tried the Ktown location and later discovered this one. Yama consistently offers fresh sushi, and this location is no exception. Its slightly smaller than the Ktown location and tends to be more crowded. ”
“ Excellent quality and prices. Busy but nice staff handles it well. Our favorite is getting a bunch of different dishes and taking them home for a nice relatively inexpensive sushi dinner. ”
